Imagine a voice born not just of talent, but of purpose—a melody crafted by divine design and tempered by life’s symphony. That voice belongs to me, LaJoyce The Voice. My journey began at the tender age of 9, when I first stood on stage at the Joseph Caleb Auditorium in Liberty City, FL, delivering an Italian Opera aria that resonated far beyond the walls of the theater. It was there I discovered that my voice was more than sound—it was a ministry, a calling, and an instrument of transformation.
Guided by exceptional mentors and classical training, my path took me through the Marshall L. Davis Cultural Arts Center (Miami, FL), Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School’s Magnet Program for the Visual and Performing Arts, and the MECCA, Howard University. These experiences shaped my voice and style into a vessel capable of traversing genres—from the heartfelt strains of Negro spirituals to the exuberance of musical theater classics, and from traditional gospel hymns to the soulful sounds of contemporary music. Today, as a worship psalmist and Music Ministry Director in Florida, I have the honor of leading others into God’s presence, side by side with my husband, a Senior Pastor and my greatest earthly partner.
But my story doesn’t stop at the microphone. It crescendos into entrepreneurship, where my passion meets purpose. I am the founder of initiatives that uplift and inspire, offering services in Image Consulting, Personal Brand Building, Creative Arts Mentoring, and Administrative Support. Through these endeavors, I empower individuals to step into their own God-given greatness—whether it’s styling deserving high school seniors for unforgettable prom nights or mentoring rising stars in their creative pursuits.
At 35, I’ve collected stories as rich and vibrant as the songs I sing. From the prestige of performing at Carnegie Hall to the joy of designing for my brand, The Upstager Societea, every moment has been a note in the symphony of my life. Affectionately known as “The Makeover Mogul” and “The ConnoisseuHER,” I embrace each title as a testament to the multifaceted nature of my calling. With Christ as my source and unwavering passion in my heart, I’m on a mission to make the world more beautiful—one note, one connection, one transformation at a time.
